Henley Athletic can clinch the SIL Senior Division title with a victory at home to Bramford United on Saturday.

In their first-ever season in the top flight, Henley are five points clear of second-placed Achilles, who play in the Suffolk Senior Cup final on Sunday – both with two games remaining.

Anything other than a win and Henley will be guaranteed a nervy finish with Achilles boasting a far superior goal difference.

Achilles are away at Wenhaston and at home to Haughley in their final two games of the season, whilst the leaders host third-placed Cranes on the final day and will not want to be requiring points ahead of this encounter.

At the other end of the division, with Ipswich Athletic already relegated, five teams are separated by just five points and are all desperate to avoid the second and final place in the drop-zone.

Grundisburgh sit sixth-bottom on 28 points, but have just one game left to play, at Felixstowe Harpers, on May 6.

Without a game at the weekend, a defeat or draw for second-bottom Stanton at Capel Plough would see Grundisburgh safe.

A win for Stanton and a defeat for Westerfield United at home to Ipswich Athletic, would see Stanton leave the bottom two.

Westerfield are currently two points better off than Stanton but with an inferior goal difference, can’t afford to draw if their rivals pick up maximum points.

Wenhaston are still not out of trouble, sat on 27 points with two games left, while Capel Plough, in 12th, were playing one of their final three games on Wednesday night.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Felixstowe Harpers entertain Coplestonians and Leiston St Margarets, off the back of a 1-0 win at Cranes on Tuesday, host East Bergholt.

In Division One, leaders Benhall St Mary will be promoted to the Senior Division if they win at Wickham Market and will have one hand on the the title, given their superior goal difference (21 goals) over second-top Sporting ‘87, who visit Old Newton United

Draw, and promotion will be virtually assured, ahead of their final game of the season at third-placed AFC Hoxne who, five points behind, have a far inferior goal difference (28 goals).

If Hoxne draw at home to IVR, then Benhall will go up and Sporting will join them with a win.
