An East of England Ambulance Service vehicle caught fire while crews were attending an incident.

The incident happened on Thursday shortly before 6am when the ambulance service was called to the aid of a man who was unconscious in Woodbridge.

An ambulance service spokesman said: “We received a call to reports of an unconscious man at an address on Haugh Lane in Woodbridge.

“We dispatched a community first responder, rapid response vehicle, two ambulance officers, and an ambulance crew to assist.

“Whilst at the scene one of our ambulance officer vehicles caught on fire, no one was injured and the fire was quickly put out by the fire service. “This did not affect the patient in any way who was left at home in stable condition.”
