A charity link-up with a Suffolk hospital is set to speed up discharge times and reduce readmissions for people with a brain problem.

Headway Suffolk, which supports adults with acquired brain injuries and neurological conditions, will move its rehabilitation service to Felixstowe Community Hospital from the town’s St John the Baptist Church on June 4.

The service will run on a Monday and helps people improve any skills or cognitive abilities that are impaired as a result of their injury or condition.

A spokesman for Headway Suffolk said: “The link with the hospital will enable inpatients to access Headway’s support during their recovery and speed up discharge times, as well as reducing readmission.”

Headway Suffolk also provides a satellite rehab service from a community building in Haverhill on a Wednesday, and will set up another in Woodbridge on May 23.
