Diners drop by for lunch at top 50 gastropub in extraordinary style

Three hungry diners made a flying visit to an award-winnning Suffolk restaurant.
The trio chose an unusual method of transport to drop in on the Unruly Pig, near Woodbridge.
Frazer Hope flew from Shoreham, in West Sussex, via Denham Aerodrome, near Uxbridge, to pick up his friends, Anthony Draper and Colin Sparke, before completing their journey to the Bromeswell eatery.
Mr Draper had discovered the restaurant through an online app, which maps landing sites for helicopter pilots.
He then learned that the Unruly Pig was East Anglia’s only inclusion on this year’s Estrella Damm list of top 50 gastropubs and decided to give it a whirl.
The flying gourmets were welcomed by Unruly Pig owner Brendan Padfield.
Before taking off, they were joined by senior sous chef Karl Green for a photo opportunity with the Hughes 369D helicopter in the back garden.
