Leiston boss Glenn Driver feels there is so much more to come from his side despite their unbeaten start to the season.

The Blues are the only Bostik club in the Premier Division who are unbeaten, with three league wins and two draws, as well as an FA Cup success.

Tomorrow afternoon they entertain Thurrock at Victory Road.

“The boys have been absolutely brilliant,” Driver said.

“But we haven’t had a full squad all season as yet. I don’t think we have managed to build up our momentum and I must admit at times it has been frustrating.

“So, for me, it just goes to show what we are capable of doing.”

Driver will again not have a full squad to choose from tomorrow, with Dominic Docherty suspended after getting sent off in the FA Cup victory at Aylesbury last week.

“Yes, we will miss Dominic and that just about sort of sums things up right now for us, not being able to get that full squad together.

“The good thing is that we are not far away though and I think by next weekend, if there are hopefully no new injuries, we will have a full squad.”

Thurrock come to Suffolk having won just two of their first five league fixtures, four of them having been at home – a contrast to Leiston who have played four of their opening six fixtures in all competitions, on the road.

Dorking and Worthing are the two sides Thurrock beat, before big-spending Billericay thrashed them 5-0 on Bank Holiday Monday at their Ship Lane ground.

“We have done a bit of homework on Thurrock and we know we are in for a big test,” Driver said.

“They are a big, physical side and they will no doubt try to unsettle us. It will be a different game to the Dulwich Hamlet game we had at our place recently.

“But we are at home. Matt Blake will start banging in the goals again soon. The match will show us how far we have come.”

Tomorrow’s clash is the first of four home games for Leiston. After Thurrock, another Essex side, Harlow come to Victory Road, before the FA Cup tie against Crowborough next Saturday.

Met Police are the visitors to Leiston on September 23.

“It will nice to have our fans support,” Driver said.

“We are getting more than 300 for home games now.”
