Man in fatal Lowestoft crash named as Scott Smith

A 35-year-old man who died following a crash in Tom Crisp Way in Lowestoft has been named as Scott Smith from Shadingfield Close.

Mr Smith was a pedestrian crossing the road at around 5pm yesterday when he was involved in the collision with an Audi A3.

He suffered chest injuries, but despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The road was closed until 8.45pm while investigations got underway.

Anyone who witnessed the incident should call Suffolk police on 101, quoting CAD 344 of July 16.
