A WOMAN has been charged with drink-driving and careless driving after a collision which left a seven-year-old girl with a fractured neck.
Joanna Cox, of Little Horsey Park, Campsea Ashe, has been charged following the single vehicle crash in The Street, Eyke, in the early hours of December 22 after she was found to have 97 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The 32-year-old, who was arrested shortly after the collision, answered bail on Saturday and was charged with drink-driving, driving without due care and attention, possession of cannabis and using a vehicle with a tyre with less than 1mm tread.
The seven-year-old girl was initially taken to Ipswich Hospital but was later transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital where she received treatment for a fractured neck. She was discharged a week later.
Cox has now been bailed to appear at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, February 15, at 10am.
