THE Royal Gunpowder Mills in Waltham Abbey played host to Robin Hood and his merry men over the bank holiday weekend.

The the historic attraction on Beaulieu Drive transformed itself into Sherwood Forest as the famous hero and his Merry Men made a guest appearance at the Legend of Robin Hood Event.

The medieval spectacular inspired by England’s most celebrated outlaw was staged by the Royal Golden Eagle Archers. Visitors were treated to two shows, with archery and a few explosions, including spectacular flaming arrows flying through the sky.

The Royal Golden Eagle Archers combined the magic of Robin Hood with magnificent archery skills and full interaction with the audience. They created a mixture of thrilling demonstrations, stunts and interactive displays.

During the day visitors got the opportunity to meet and mingle with the legendary hero and his merry men and also try their hand at archery.

Communications assistant Jessica Lynch said: “The event was a great success and we had approximately 1,600 people over the three days. It was an excellent weekend and a great turn out.”
