A Christmas Tree festival, lantern procession, market, Santa’s grotto and the eagerly-anticipated Christmas lights switch-on outside Market Hall in the High Street were enjoyed by hundreds of people keen to get in the festive mood.

“It engenders a really strong sense of community spirit which enables people to meet new people at a time when we should all be reflecting and thinking of others, and making sure families are happy and safe,” said chairman Peter Ewart.
