Suffolk cycle speedway stars Josh Brooke and Pierce Bacon were in superb form at Swindon yesterday, in the second round of the HSBC UK Elite GP cycle speedway series.

Brooke, who rides for Great Blakenham won the Elite Men’s class after both he and Lukasz Nowacki finished on 18 points, with Brooke making no mistake in the run-off.

Brooke is enjoying a fine season having already won the Dash Trophies meeting at Wednesfield, and representing Great Britain in Poland last weekend.

Bacon, meanwhile, who rides for Ipswich, is another England and GB international, and was in imperious form at Swindon in the Elite Junior class, racing to a maximum in style on the fast, banked Wiltshire circuit.

The HSBC series is run over four rounds, with the next round at Great Blakenham on Saturday, July 1. Admission and car parking is free to watch the event.
